GPEX Mineral Property Portfolio
HOZAMEEN SERPENTINE BELT
MT. DEWDNEY ~ MANSON RIDGE SUITE
GPEX’s “Dewdney - Manson Suite” consists of four properties, the “Master 1,” “Master 2,” “Master 3,” and the “Ghost Lake Serpentine” claims. Only two of the tenures are contiguous, but jointly the group comprise 674.22 hectares. Two of the claims are cut by the Hozameen Fault, another encompassing an elongated fault structure adjacent to the Hozameen, and of which comprises ultrmaphic rocks. The fourth claim lies off the north tip of said ultramaphic body, and the fifth, straddles a contact next to the Hozameen, of which comprises mainly sedimentary rocks. More specifically, the locations of the tenures range from the peaks to the northern slopes of Manson Ridge (Mount Dewdney and Mount Outram), approximately 20 kilometres east-southeast of Hope. Access in best gained via Sowaqua Creek logging roads, commencing from the Sowaqua Creek Exit on BC Highway 5, the Coquihalla Highway.
The Hozameen Fault, a northwest trending gold-bearing serpentine structure, which ranges from the Boston Bar area in the north to well into Washington State, south of the International Border, traverses through the claim area. The gold producing Carolin and Emancipation Mines, are located along this structure, yet, to the north of BC Highway 5. Though there has not been actual mine development to the south of said highway, there has been a considerable amount of exploration in the past. A number of the more promising prospects, the “New Jay,” “Master Ace,” “Timberline” and “Big Range,” all lie within GPEX’s Dewdney / Manson properties.
The Coquihalla Serpentine Belt forms a narrow, elongate, north- northwest trending steeply dipping unit separating supracrustal rocks of the Ladner Group to the east, from the Hozameen Complex in the west. Dark, highly sheared to massive serpentinite of probable peridotite parentage, characterizes the belt. The western contact is represented by a major fracture which appears to dip steeply east. This is termed the "West" Hozameen fault and the serpentinites in this vicinity contain highly sheared talcose rocks. The serpentinite has a complex association with diorite intrusions which occur as dike-like bodies within the ultramafics.
Minfile Summary Reports, Numbers 092HSW145 (Big Range), 092HSW146 (Timberline), 092HSW152 (New Jay) and 092HSW043 (Master Ace), describe the area’s geology and the prospects. However, the varied Reports by former operators, in particular, those of JT Shearer, offer the most thorough description of the geology along the Hozameen Fault.
Activity in the region, as with that throughout the mining industry, has fluctuated according to the rising and falling precious metals markets. Following decades of low prices, the upswing in precious metals has generated renewed interest and extensive explorations. Firms and individuals are now focused on many of the older claim areas.
With the opening of GPEX’s mineral property portfolio, these and several other dynamic prospects of high potential, are now made available to parties bearing serious hardrock interest. Whether of larger mining status, a junior firm desiring to expand upon its operations or holdings, the entrepreneurial mining speculator, the individual seeking investment opportunities, the small operator desiring a Mom & Pop operation, or, the junior prospector seeking a quality property to engage in hardrock explorations, quite possibly the acquisition of one or more of GPEX’s properties will satisfy the search.
